George, i apologise if i sounded a cunt, but my old man (lost the old guy last year god rest his soul) was one of those guys who would never talk about the war unless you prized it out of him and he had no reason to lie...a good name for him would have been Honest Cyril...cheers mate. - Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 19:23) ReplyReport as offensive
You didn't sound a cunt, mate. Nothing but respect for anyone who thought in that war or any other war. My own Grandfather served during WW2 and never spoke about it much. - Honest George (31/07/10 19:28) Report as offensive
Sorry, i was just rantin...but i fuckin enjoyed it! - Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 19:04) Report as offensive
I hate the whole conspiracy side of things ( i hate the x-files) har har. but i watched the moon landings in 1969, i would have been about 13 and i was spellbound. but from a 13 yr old yob developed a realist and a cynic. my old man was with the american 5th army and he made me aware of the whole bulshit scenarios evolving around him. He landed in africa and he plus canadian and polish soldiers were made to swap uniforms for american uniforms and then they were then filmed for american bulshit he-man propoganda films.
He also told me that most american soldiers were actually black guys. The truth comes from real people not hollywood.
Thats why i actually believe i was conned (as were others) in 1969. - Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 18:54) ReplyReport as offensive
Well they could have just filmed thousends of American troop maimed and dead and sent that back for the American public to be outraged and demand that they brought their troops home, it's propaganda, it's supposed to be bullshit otherwise it defeats the object. I don't know where you're comeing from, mate? - Honest George (31/07/10 19:02) Report as offensive
Why make british, polish and canadians swap uniforms mate? you tell me? - Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 19:08) Report as offensive
Why make british, polish and canadians swap uniforms mate? you tell me? please answer?
- Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 19:09) Report as offensive
I don't know the full facts of the story behind it but if i was trying to paint a rosy picture of the war effort to a concerned public back home i'd probably resort to bullshit tactics. - Honest George (31/07/10 19:13) Report as offensive
The whole ufo invention is great fun for american intelligence agencies...do you honestly think that they would send seven astronauts up into space, strapped onto a massive explosive device (the shuttle) if they could actually click their heels three times and shout take me to venus in my ufo please. The moon landing was a toatal hoax as well. 64k total memory was used to land a couple of ton of metal on the moon.bollocks. Why where a couple of thousand blokes employed to land 64k of memory on the moon?
No atmosphere and yet footprints where made? who filmed the eagle taking off from the moon? 1969....oh yeah,we must make the commies look like cunts, so why not fake a load of shit like in our movies. Have you seen a ufo or just seen something that YOU cant explain? - Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 17:29) ReplyReport as offensive
I'm in two minds about the first moon landing being a hoax, agian there is some very compelling evidence that says it probably didn't happen but then again there's always going to be conspiracy theories and enough people to believe in them. As for "Have you seen a ufo or just seen something that YOU cant explain?" That's why it's called a 'UFO'? So if it can't be explained does it then warrant no investigation at all? Should it just remain an Unidentfied Flying Object and just leave it at that? It's strange how the US Airforce take that stance, or so they say, but the US Navy have gone to great lenghts to find out what their own 'level headed, nothing to gain by lying' personnel have reported, even going as far as demanding to have the information gatherd by the Airforce handed over to them, and even stranger that the Navy were told to back off and leave it. Isn't that strange?
- Honest George (31/07/10 18:15) Report as offensive
I can't believe the moon landings were a hoax. There were too many people involved, someone would've said something by now. People love conspiracy though. Sorry to bring Hicks back into it, but I reckon that's one of the reason's why he's so popular. All he needed to do was spout some lazy material about the government lying to us and that was enough for him to be hailed as a prophet. - Jonny Kitkat (31/07/10 18:29) Report as offensive
I find it hard to believe that the moon landings were a hoax, but it wouldn't surprise in the least if they were. Again i keep an open mind. - Honest George (31/07/10 18:31) Report as offensive
I'd find it very sad if it did emerge that they'd been faked. Also, I'm not really one for conspiracy theories. The 9/11 ones I find particularly obnoxious. - Jonny Kitkat (31/07/10 18:40) Report as offensive
The 9/11 conspiracay theorist are laughbable, but the idiots that swallow it are even more laughable. - Honest George (31/07/10 18:54) Report as offensive
That is facinating, i'm sure that the science has already been achieved and that the technology is already being used by some governments. I think that the whole thing about UFO's being from out of space has been and still is a ploy by the respective governmaents to keep the technology top secret. Stands to reason in my opinion.
- Honest George (31/07/10 09:44) Report as offensive
It is beyond doubt that governments have used the UFO story as a cover to develop new technology but that doesn't explain all of the phenomena by a long shot. I watched a programme on the box last week and a scientist was talking about the number of planets just within the Milky Way. Even using ridiculously conservative estimates, there must be thousands of planets near us (in space terms!) that have life and further out in the universe there must be planets that have life hundreds of millions, or even billions of years more advanced than us. If you think how far the human race has advanced in 100 years, it would take an intellectual hermit of Richard Dawkins proportions not to see that there have to be civilisations out there so advanced that they are capable of things we simply cannot comprehend. - Ricardo (31/07/10 12:15) Report as offensive
I don't really buy it, he just blinded us with science there. I'm sure there's a simpler explanation. A good comment from the video; ""There's my experiment. All you skeptics out there, the only way to debunk it is to build it and do it..."
Wait wait wait wait....
All you're doing is hypothesizing. You didn't DO ANYTHING. What are we supposed to disprove?" That's spot on. And all that stuff at the end about "The government's fucking lying to us!" just smacked of Bill Hicks' brand of paranoid cuntery. - Jonny Kitkat (31/07/10 14:50) Report as offensive
Bill Hicks had a fucking cheek accusing the government of lying. His agent lied to people for years, and the lie in question was "Bill is funny". - Jimmy Vespa (31/07/10 15:59) Report as offensive
Jonny. Do you dismiss out of hand the possibility of life on other planets or indeed even the possibility of us being visited from beings from other planets? - Honest George (31/07/10 16:56) Report as offensive
I think there's a high chance of there being life on other planets, but I find it difficult to believe that we've been visited by extraterrestrial life. The science in that video was very complex and I'm tempted to think that there are much more simple exlpanations for UFOs at hand. Then again, I'm not a physicist, so what do I know? - Jonny Kitkat (31/07/10 17:02) Report as offensive
I was a total sceptic untill recently. Untill qualified individules starting to take the subject very seriously, and so i've change my mind as the factual evidence has change, and there does seem to be some very compelling evidence for the possibility of extra-terrestrial visitations. Even so i'm hedging my bets by remaining open minded. - Honest George (31/07/10 17:11) Report as offensive
Heres another example of science bullshit. They sure do talk the talk, but they sure dont walk the walk, no apologies to steven hawking. How far have we come? we can now get lots of gramaphone records into a little box. The guy narrating is so up his own arse, yet he probably drives around in a four wheel multi explosion modified steam engine..ha ha....i live up north and we call people like this billy bullshitters....we have ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF of ufos or god...ime sorry but i need proof. - Brit-N-Proud (31/07/10 17:50) Report as offensive
